“So show him something simple which, formed over generations,
lives as our own, near our hand and within our gaze.
Tell him of Things.”
R.M. Rilke
Presented in 2025, the Things/Cose series reveals a new chapter in Francesco D’Adamo’s work. While his search continues to pursue complex and layered images, with a constant dialogue between different elements, the paintings’ compositional structure seemingly originates from everyday objects, sourced from everywhere and nowhere.
Within the space of a canvas, these structures come together and fall apart in a kaleidoscope of images, suggesting that there is much to be explored in these things: memory and the passing of time, people and their habits, their relationships. And places, structures, memories, and silences.
Yes, things.
