These last few months of work have been crucial in thinking about what I have done recently and what I wish to accomplish in the future.
And as much as these transitions are never as sharp and obvious as we tell ourselves, I am convinced that a new phase in my painting has begun and it is my intention to devote the next few years to exploring and defining it.
At the moment I am focusing on works collected under the name New Consonances, which have been sought for a long time and have finally found a way to come to light. Many new canvases are moving toward conclusion and I look forward to sharing them with you. Their development can be followed in their gallery.
Often a new chapter can only open when others come to a conclusion, and this is undoubtedly the case with the Simulacra collection. After eight years since its inception, Cavallo a Dondolo was its last painting. The Manifesti series, on which I have been working full-time for the past two years, is also moving toward its climax. Recent works like Spring and Come La Notte bring together all the elements I wanted from this collection and I am sure that something new will emerge from them sooner or later.
